Nikon’s cameras are very user friendly. They are a lot less confusing, and are an overall better camera.

I just had the same question and I ended up buying the D5000 it has better features like the flippy screen is very handy and I bought the upgraded package so I got a really good lens with it but the Nikon is the best in my opinion

19 mode’s is nikon making an colection for it
Is the rotating …
Is the rotating screen useful? And the 19 scene modes? Cuz I’m new to DSLRs and I think the graphic mode would be of good use to me. But I’m afriad that it may be irritating to always have to change settings through the screen. Thanks

Should I buy this Nikon, or the Canon EOS 1000D?
it’s not as good, …
it’s not as good, when it comes to speed, and also the sensor is not as good as the canon’s.
but i love the d5000 for it’s dysplay.
it’s what you want from your camera.
having fun and being creative – nikon
having the better technical camera – xti
i got the d5000, cuz it’s pretty awesome to work with it and because of the creativity thing.

I am so glad that …
I am so glad that video was hardly mentioned. I have no interest in seeing SLRs function as YouTube machines, it takes away from its focus (pardon the pun) as an excellent still imager in the tradition of all SLRs before. I am considering this model.

like I didn’t k now that? 5D Mark II = better camera, but its for pros
D5000= entry camera, which doesn’t look like one because of the features and such, but still it is an entry, so I think I have an IDEA that it IS far apart, but thanks for letting people who didn’t know that. Also aaraarrar, XD nice comment, its just a nikon fanboy opinion though, =( I wish people would say nothing would beat nikon AND canon. since sony doesn’t do well with cameras, =\
just got this unit. …
just got this unit. it’s pretty cool.i love the rotating live view…
So if i rely on the …
So if i rely on the AF motor in the lense, is that subsequently working at a slower focus rate that in body motors that can focus?
IT’s around the …
IT’s around the same price as the Canon T1i or something? How do those compare? Functions aside i like the layout and ergonomics of the Nikon design over the canon. Im most skeptical about the speed issue. What if i miss the moment? That would suck big time. Also Im just moving onto DSLR from P&S but i want something that’s good to start with. Im not into upgrading afterwards. So with that in mind, I think a liveview will help me transfer easier into using the viewfinder
